Safety recommendations are issued by the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) as a result of the investigation of transportation accidents and other safety problems. Recommendations usually identify a specific problem uncovered during an investigation or study and specify how to correct the situation. If would like receive safety recommendations through e-mail from the NTSB, you can register to do so by clicking on the link below. You may indicate the mode of transportation (railroad, highway, aviation) for which you would like to receive recommendations.
Also available on the NTSB website are accident investigation reports that describe the findings of NTSB investigators on transportation accidents occurring after 1996. To view these reports, click on the link below and choose Accidents next to the desired mode of transportation.
