The Auxiliary of the UTU is an organization of persons of all ages (16 years and over) that are related to members of the UTU or UTU Auxiliary.

Membership in the Auxiliary creates an association with people of similar interests. Your membership will help you better understand the work of the UTU and the importance of the union to your spouse or relative’s job.

The Auxiliary of the UTU is nonsectarian and nonpartisan. As a member of a subordinate lodge in the United States and Canada, you will have an opportunity to participate in community affairs and become informed on important legislation affecting railroad, bus, transit and airline families.

Mae Parker serves as president of the Auxiliary. Shirley Knull serves as secretary & treasurer.

Parker was elected by delegates at the Auxiliary’s August 2010 convention. She assumed office Jan. 1, 2011.

Also elected was Scott Saunders of Smithville, Texas, as national legislative director. Saunders is the first male elected to a Grand Lodge position in UTU Auxiliary history. He was one of two male delegates to the convention, out of 37 total.

“I look forward to this challenge with both excitement and hesitation,” Parker said after she was elected. “I ask all Auxiliary members to help me expand, grow and develop the membership of this fine organization. It is our history which propels us into the future.”
